Biltong Hash browns

Good old fashioned hash browns are great but we love how @papamikeskitchen switched up the usual hash browns, Ember style. He said it was definitely the star of the show because of his spicy fry up. Give it a go and you’ll find a banging brunch just won’t be complete without it.

Serves 3 - 4


  • 2 packs of Ember Chilli Biltong
  • 3 large potatoes
  • 1 medium white onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp AP flour
  • 2 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Grate the potatoes and onion then place in a tea towel and squeeze out all the juices
  2. Add to a bowl with the egg, flour, and spices
  3. Heat a large pan and scoop out about a pool ball size of the potato mix and squish down onto the hot pan with a spatula
  4. Cook for about 4 - 5 mins each side until golden brown and crispy
