At Ember Snacks we’re taking protein back to British farms where nutrition is simple, meat is quality and animals roam free.
We believe the meat you eat should go from pasture to plate, farm to snack and only a couple of places in between. Who’s with us? That’s why our biltong and charcuterie snacks are made with lean meat from British and Irish soil – packed with natural protein your body deserves.
We make our snacks the old-fashioned way: marinating, seasoning and curing our biltong, and expertly crafting meat into a 100% British charcuterie we're proud to call our own. Simple ingredients and no added sugar means it’s only got the good stuff and no unnecessary nasties. Why would it? It’s meat the way it’s meant to be.
When it comes to meat, its hard to know who to trust and where to go. Stick with us and it won’t be.
Here at Ember we look to old-fashioned farms – not factory farms – that prioritise natural nutrition, animal welfare and sustainable practices. That’s why all our meat comes from British and Irish soil, where cows and pigs roam free.
Our founders Harry and Jack Mayhew grew up mucking in on their family farm, raised on real nutrition and hearty meals, so they wouldn't have the meat you eat any other way.
We're on a mission to end factory farming for good and want you to be part of the change.

Biltong is thinly sliced dried, cured meat originating in Southern African countries like Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. If we had to compare it to something, we’d say it was a little like beef jerky. But trust us - it’s a whole different beast. To find out more about biltong, click here.
We make our biltong by marinating, seasoning and curing the silverside cut from cows reared on British and Irish soil. To learn more about the process, click here.
Luckily, biltong is made with natural ingredients, a big old dose of protein and all nine essential amino acids (for fat burning, muscle growth, reduced mental fatigue...the list goes on). To know more, read our blog about What is Biltong and its delicious benefits here.
Beef jerky is a classic cooked and dehydrated meat snack, made with salt and different seasonings. All the moisture is sucked out of the meat, which means it can hang around safely on the shelves for a long time.
Biltong, uses a mix of vinegar and deep, strong spices every step of the way, giving the meat that extra notch of flavour. It also packs a juicier punch, because it has a slightly higher amount of fat running through the meat. Beef jerky has less fat - hence why it can be drier (and tougher on the teeth). Biltong is relatively similar to beef jerky being both dried meat snacks, but they are totally different beasts in terms of taste, texture, and production as biltong has zero sugar and uses the process of air-drying rather than dehydrating or cooking which locks in almost all of the meat’s minerals, vitamins, and delicious flavour made with just a medley of herbs and spices and not a single grain of added sugar.
